Guuranda X
Guuranda X is an adaptation of the original Guuranda mainstage production commissioned by Adelaide Festival in 2024. This new iteration has been developed specifically as a participatory, community-engaged touring model that prioritises legacy, cultural knowledge-sharing, and sustainable practice.
Guuranda X honours the late Tom E Lewis and Aunty Rhoda Roberts, whose teachings shaped the foundations of this work. Their generosity, cultural leadership and belief in a young Narungga artist made this journey possible. Guuranda X carries their lessons forward, sharing ceremony with care, centring relationship, and holding responsibility to Country and community

Our approach trialles a new environmentally conscious touring model that aligns with First Nations principles of Caring for Country; touring ideas, knowledge, and creative frameworks rather than large physical sets or freight.
In each host city, the work activates local dancers and performers, creating space for exchange between Narungga artists and local talent. A small Narungga team will travel to lead cultural exchange, share songlines and story, and work collaboratively with community partners to shape each performance from the Country it is made upon
